About Safe Helps Group
Safe Helps Group rose from the ashes in 2023 when twenty-eight year old Abigail Witmer Ernst died by suicide. Abbie was the daughter of Pastor Tobe and Amy Witmer of Newark, Delaware. She was a brilliant, successful married woman who could not resolve issues within. In the weeks following her death, Safe Helps Group was born with the mission of sparing others from such a fate and their loved ones from horrific loss.
SHG’s main avenue of ministry is speaking engagements in seminars, conferences, organizations, churches, civic groups, colleges, schools, conferences, etc. The menu of available topics range from suicide prevention to education, to comfort, to training to minister to those impacted by suicide loss. SHG also connects those in jeopardy to certified counseling.
Tobe and Amy have been in pastoral ministry for thirty-one years. They have five children. Amy is a high school and ladies teacher. Along with pastoring, Tobe serves as an Honorary Police Commander for the Delaware State Police as well as a corporate chaplain.
